Welcome to our website, we aspire to breed "Wiser Stock Dogs ~ Australian Cattle Dogs.” Our dogs have been placed in homes across the United States with excellent results. Adhering to the AKC standards of the Australian

Cattle Dog, we do our best to help make the breed better. Here on the Lazy YZ Ranch, we raise nice AKC registered Australian Cattle Dog puppies. We offer them for sale to individuals who understand the breed and are capable of providing a proper, loving home. Our breeding dogs are tested and have nice bloodlines, good dispositions, nice markings, and appealing stocky

conformation. Wiser puppies are sold as active pet companions, show dogs,

and working dogs.

There is no better place to train puppies and dogs than the open spaces of Wyoming. Under Tiffany's experienced hand, our puppies teach themselves through age-appropriate activities that bring out their natural aptitudes and talents. As they explore the terrain around them, the puppies learn to cross ditches and handle obstacles in their path. In short, they learn to think for themselves, and they build confidence while Tiffany ensures their safety.

   

For puppies (or dogs) who are here for training, Tiffany begins training around 11-12 weeks old. Much like children, each puppy is recognized as an individual personality who learns at different levels and speeds. With hundreds of acres to explore, there is plentiful opportunity for exposure to teaching experiences. The puppies are raised around livestock and introduced to cattle at an appropriate age to reveal their individual potential for working stock. We also play in the irrigation water when I irrigate our alfala and grass hay in the summer.

The first group of commands Tiffany teaches are the Basic Commands: Come, Sit, Stay, There, Down, and That’ll Do. These commands can be learned as

early as 4 months or as late as 10 months. It depends on the puppy.

The second group of commands Tiffany teaches are the Advanced Stock Dog Commands: Walk Up, Steady, Away to Me, Come By, Come Behind, In Front, and Sick Em.  These commands can be learned between 1 year to 3 years,

depending on the individual dog.

Other commands taught are: Load Up, On Out, and Go In.

The best news Tiffany can receive is that the dogs she has trained fit in to their new homes nicely. It is wonderful when new owners enjoy a close relationship with their dog and are able to communicate their wishes to a dog who is ready

to comply.
